Be Our Guest

We would love to have you join us in worship at Mount Zion Church! Our Sunday morning service begins at 11:00 A.M. We also offer special children's activities for all ages and a worship service called "Mount Noiz" which is designed especially for children ages 2nd-5th grade, as well as "Mount Noiz Junior" for ages K4-1st.

We pray you will be inspired by our worship, encouraged by the Word of God, and experience the love of Christ in our fellowship. Come encounter the great things God is doing at Mount Zion. We look forward to your attendance.

Visitor Information

After you park, you can enter the building through three main doors. The door located on the far left as you face the building leads to our Sanctuary. The other set of doors, on the far right, is where you will find our offices and most of our classrooms, including those used for Adult Sunday School classes.

The door closest to our parking lot, at the back of our church, is the quickest way to get to our Fellowship Hall and the stairway, which will lead you to our children's area on the second floor and our Youth Room on the third floor. When you enter, someone will be happy to direct you further.

Who We Are

Mount Zion Church was founded in 1831 with its current location established in 1862. Our church was rebuilt in 1921 and the current sanctuary was erected in 1974. Over the years, Mount Zion has experienced many changes and transitioned from a traditional music style to a blended worship style with praise singers, a praise band, and a praise choir. Although certain aspects of our church have changed, what will never change is our belief in the authority of God's unchanging Word and our responsibility to proclaim it boldly and live it passionately.

At Mount Zion, we are a purposeful congregation of believers who share worship and fellowship together as a result of our common union with God through Jesus Christ. We believe it is our responsibility to be the hands and feet of Christ to the world and we strive to make Mount Zion a beacon of light to the community.

Our Vision

Our vision at Mount Zion Church is to lead people into a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ.

We accomplish our vision through our five areas of focus which include worship, discipleship, evangelism, ministry, and fellowship. These five areas of focus are represented by the five circular swooshes in our church logo. These swooshes symbolize a shutter lens to remind us to focus on these five areas of our spiritual lives.

Our Beliefs

We believe that God created mankind to have a relationship with Him. When that relationship was shattered by our sin, God pursued us. He sent His Son, Jesus, who lived a perfect life and was put to death on the cross. Three days later, God raised Him from the dead. We believe that anyone who confesses with their mouth and believes in their heart that this is true, repents of their sins, and proactively takes steps to follow Jesus, is supernaturally changed by the Holy Spirit. All who take these steps of faith become a new person and enjoy a restored relationship with God.

As Southern Baptists, we are an autonomous body that works in cooperation with other churches, the Columbus Baptist Association, the Georgia Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. A more detailed outline of our basic beliefs is found in the Baptist Faith and Message.
